What you'll need to bring

Day trip equipment

  • Light pack to carry days provisions 
  • Suitable footwear with ankle support
  • Comfortable outdoor clothing to suit the season
  • Camera
  • Sunhat
  • Water bottle
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Food for the day
  • Water in a bottle.

Summit climb equipment

The following equipment is required for mountain day trips per party member:

Clothing to wear:

  • Warm shirt
  • Shorts or long trousers
  • Socks
  • Good hiking boots
  • Gaiters are good but not essential.

To carry in your pack:

  • Weatherproof parka and over trousers
  • Track pants (not jeans or cotton trousers
  • Polar fleece or woolen jersey (not just a cotton sweat shirt)
  • Personal first aid kit and medication
  • Sun hat, good quality sunglasses, sun block
  • Gloves and warm hat (even if the weather looks promising)
  • Lunch and snacks
  • Drink: at least 2½ to 3 litres+ per person. Hot drink is always good too.
  • Pack- weatherproof to hold all equipment per person (45+ litre)
  • Change of warm clothes for afterwards (to be left in the car)
  • Torch with good batteries as a precaution (include spare batteries)
  • Camera and a smile on your face
  • Walking poles are an advantage
  • If winter, ice axe and crampons, these can be hired from us.

Extra gear for overnight trips

  • Sleeping bag
  • Toiletries
  • Torch and extra batteries

Who will carry the equipment?

There are two options:

  1. You carry your own gear
  2. We supply support staff to carry some of your gear should you require assistance.
