Experience

Ian McAlpine, Mount Taranaki Guided Tours Professional Guide and Company Manager, has performed acting roles in movies on a regular basis since 1955.  Ian’s father was president of the Taranaki Cinema Camera Club.

During the 1970s Ian and his brother Alistair filmed extensive footage during mountaineering expeditions on Mount Taranaki and in New Zealand’s Southern Alps. Two movies of note being shot during expeditions to Mt Sefton (3151m) and Mt Tutoko (2756m) in 1976.

Ian McAlpine has a large collection of outdoor adventure and scenery images of both the North and South Islands and especially of Mt Egmont/Taranaki.

These are available for both amateur and professional use, on request.
